Who Should Apply ILP for Mizoram

All citizens of India, except for permanent residents and indigenous persons of Mizoram, are required to obtain the Inner Line Permit prior to entering the state of Mizoram.

To obtain the Inner Line Permit, it is compulsory for all individuals, except for the following categories of persons, to apply for the permit:

1. Indigenous Persons of Mizoram

Persons who are indigenous inhabitants of the state of Mizoram, including their direct descendants, are not required to obtain the Inner Line Permit.

2. Non-Indigenous Women Married to Indigenous Men

Non-indigenous women married to indigenous men of the state of Mizoram, residing within the state, are not required to obtain the Inner Line Permit.

3. Members of Security Forces Posted in Mizoram

Members of the security forces posted within the state, along with their families, are not required to obtain the Inner Line Permit during their tenure of posting within the state of Mizoram.

4. State or Central Government Employees Serving in Mizoram

Regular and permanent employees of State or Central Government departments, serving within the state of Mizoram, along with their families, are not required to obtain the Inner Line Permit during their tenure of service within the state.

5. Retired Government Employees Married to Indigenous Persons

Retired employees of the State or Central Government who have settled down permanently in Mizoram by marrying an indigenous person are not required to obtain an ILP to enter Mizoram.

6. Government Advocates

Government Advocates and Defense Panel Advocates deputed by the Government, along with their family members, are exempted from obtaining an ILP while serving in Mizoram.

7. Employees of Government Undertakings

The regular or permanent employees of Government Undertakings, corporations, and organizations deputed to Mizoram, along with their family members, are exempted from obtaining an ILP while serving in Mizoram.

8. Persons Invited by Government

Individuals or groups who are formally invited by the Government or Government Undertakings to enter Mizoram and have been issued an official ILP Exemption Certificate are not required to obtain an ILP for entry into Mizoram.
