Who Should Apply ILP for Arunachal Pradesh
All citizens of India, except permanent residents and indigenous persons of Arunachal Pradesh, are required to obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) before entering the state. The ILP system regulates entry of non-residents to protect the cultural identity, security, and environment of the state.
In order to obtain an ILP, it is compulsory for all individuals, except those belonging to the following categories, to apply for the permit:
1. Indigenous Persons of Arunachal Pradesh
Persons who are indigenous inhabitants of the state of Arunachal Pradesh, including members of the Scheduled Tribes and other recognized native inhabitants of the state, along with their direct descendants, are not required to obtain the Inner Line Permit
.
2. Non-Indigenous Women Married to Indigenous Men
Non-indigenous women who are married to indigenous men of Arunachal Pradesh and are residing in the state are generally exempted from obtaining the Inner Line Permit, subject to recognition by the competent authority.
3. Members of Security Forces Posted in Arunachal Pradesh
Members of the security forces posted in the state, along with their families, are exempted from obtaining the Inner Line Permit during their tenure and stay in Arunachal Pradesh.
4. State or Central Government Employees Serving in Arunachal Pradesh
Regular and permanent employees of State or Central Government departments serving in Arunachal Pradesh, along with their family members, are exempted from obtaining the Inner Line Permit during their tenure and stay in the state.
5. Retired Government Employees Married to Indigenous Persons
Retired State or Central Government employees who have permanently settled in Arunachal Pradesh through marriage with an indigenous person of the state are not required to obtain an ILP for entering or residing in the state.
6. Government Advocates
Government Advocates and Defense Panel Advocates deputed by the Government, along with their family members, are exempt from obtaining an Inner Line Permit while serving in Arunachal Pradesh.
7. Employees of Government Undertakings
Regular or permanent employees of Government Undertakings, corporations, and organizations deputed to work in Arunachal Pradesh, along with their family members, are exempt from obtaining the Inner Line Permit during their service in the state.
8. Persons Invited by Government
Individuals or groups formally invited by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh or Government Undertakings and issued with an official ILP Exemption Certificate by the competent authority are not required to obtain an ILP for entering the state.
